An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Litigation Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in legal support, who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role demands a high level of organization, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, and a deep understanding of legal procedures and terminology. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to our litigation team, ensuring smooth case progression and efficient workflow.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to our litigation attorneys, including but not limited to drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and maintaining case files.
  • Manage the attorney calendar, scheduling court dates, meetings, and deadlines.
  • Coordinate and manage discovery processes, including document collection, organization, and production.
  • Prepare and file court documents in compliance with established guidelines and deadlines.
  • Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other stakeholders to coordinate meetings, depositions, and hearings.
  • Track and record billable hours, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of court rules and filing procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including the organization of exhibits, trial binders, and other materials.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required, such as answering phones, maintaining office supplies, and managing correspondence.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant or similar role in a law firm or legal department.
  • Proficiency in calendaring litigation deadlines and managing complex schedules.
  • Strong knowledge of legal procedures, court rules, and legal terminology.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research software.
  • Familiarity with document management systems and timekeeping software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • High degree of professionalism, with the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Paralegal certification or equivalent legal qualification is preferred, but not required.
