An esteemed law firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to join our dynamic team. This individual will play an integral role in providing comprehensive support to our litigation team, including but not limited to, managing all aspects of complex litigation cases, drafting legal documents, and conducting legal research. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the legal compliance requirements, trial preparation, document review, and discovery process. The successful candidate should be well-versed in the use of Electronic Filing Systems, Legal Document Preparation, and Legal Case Management Software. This position requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide comprehensive litigation support, including managing all aspects of complex litigation cases.
2. Conduct thorough legal research and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents.
3. Utilize electronic filing systems to manage, organize, and track case files.
4. Prepare for trial by coordinating the assembly of exhibits, assisting with witness preparation, and managing trial files.
5. Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy and relevance in the discovery process.
6. Ensure legal compliance in all activities and maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in laws and regulations.
7. Utilize legal case management software to track case progress and manage case deadlines.
8. Draft and proofread legal correspondence and documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
9. Handle personal injury cases, including gathering and organizing evidence, drafting pleadings and motions, and coordinating with medical providers and insurance companies.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably in litigation.
2. Proficient in legal research and drafting legal documents.
3. Extensive experience with electronic filing systems and legal document preparation.
4. In-depth knowledge of the discovery process, document review, and trial preparation.
5. Proficient in using legal case management software.
6. Excellent knowledge of legal compliance and legal writing.
7. Experience in handling personal injury cases is a plus.
8. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
11. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
12. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
13. Paralegal certification or equivalent is a plus.
