Our fast-paced, high-profile law firm is seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and motivated Litigation Paralegal to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers the convenience of remote work. The successful candidate will play a key role in our litigation team, assisting in the management and progression of complex insurance defense and civil litigation cases. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience, with at least 3 years in litigation.
Responsibilities:
As a Litigation Paralegal, your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial.
2. Conducting legal research and factual investigation.
3. Drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate documents.
4. Assisting in the preparation for trial including compiling trial exhibits, trial binders, and coordinating with expert witnesses.
5. Reviewing and analyzing large volumes of documents and data to extract key information.
6. Coordinating and managing document productions and discovery requests.
7. Liaising with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and expert witnesses.
8. Assisting in deposition preparation, pre-trial investigations, trial preparation, including strategy discussions, document preparation, witness coordination, and trial logistics.
9. Maintaining case management system and ensuring timely filing of documents.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
1. A minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience, with at least 3 years focused on litigation.
2. Proven experience in insurance defense and civil litigation.
3. A bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate.
4. Proficiency in legal research tools and litigation support software.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a keen eye for detail.
7. The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
10. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
11. High level of discretion and confidentiality for clients.
12. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment.
13. Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.
