Our prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Consulting Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our litigation attorneys in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your legal acumen, critical thinking skills, and passion for law. You will be exposed to complex and stimulating legal cases, allowing you to further develop your skills and expertise in the legal industry.
Responsibilities:
As a Consulting Litigation Paralegal, you will be responsible for:
1. Conducting extensive legal research to gather relevant information that will aid in the preparation of legal cases.
2. Drafting motions, pleadings, and other legal documents with precision and accuracy.
3. Assisting attorneys in case preparation, including discovery, deposition, and trial phases.
4. Organizing and maintaining case files, ensuring all relevant information is easily accessible.
5. Coordinating with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals to facilitate communication and ensure timely execution of legal proceedings.
6. Reviewing and summarizing legal documents such as depositions, records, and testimonies for attorney review.
7. Keeping abreast of changes in laws, court decisions, and legal practices to ensure the firm's compliance with all regulations.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role should have:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably supporting a defense civil litigation practice.
2. A bachelor's degree in law, paralegal studies, or a related field is preferred but not required.
3. Proficiency in legal research tools and databases, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
4. Exceptional drafting skills with a keen attention to detail.
5. Strong understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and federal and state rules of legal procedure.
6. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
7. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
