We are currently seeking a seasoned Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to be involved in complex and challenging legal cases. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation matters. This includes trail preparation, case investigation, scanning, cataloging, and utilizing LAW PreDiscovery. A solid understanding of tenant law and commercial leasing is essential for this role.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-claim investigation, legal research, and initial case assessments.
  • Assist with all stages of litigation, from inception through discovery and trial.
  • Organize and manage documents, and prepare case materials for trial.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents, and file them with the court.
  • Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics, etc).
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes, track exhibits, and create trial binders.
  • Assist in deposition preparation, pre-trial investigations, trial planning, and trial execution.
  • Use existing software and technology to manage discovery, including LAW PreDiscovery.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, briefs, and pleadings.
  • Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties.
  • Provide assistance with case settlements.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal.
  • Paralegal certification or degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Detailed knowledge of tentent law and commercial leasing.
  • Proficiency in using legal database software and LAW PreDiscovery.
  • Strong understanding of the litigation process, legal terminology, court rules, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Experience in drafting legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests and responses.
