Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Gastroenterologist to join our team for a clinic and procedures role, including both Upper and Lower GI Endoscopy procedures as well as clinic appointments. The ideal candidate will be experienced in performing a range of GI procedures, with a strong focus on colonoscopy, upper GI endoscopy, and diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic interventions. This position requires a combination of clinic days and procedure days, as well as 1 day of 24-hour call per week (typically on Tuesdays), with no weekend work required.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will be experienced in performing a range of GI procedures, with a strong focus on colonoscopy, upper GI endoscopy, and diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic interventions. This position requires a combination of clinic days and procedure days, as well as 1 day of 24-hour call per week (typically on Tuesdays), with no weekend work required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinic and GI procedural care Monday-Friday, with 15 patients per day in the clinic.
- Perform a variety of GI procedures, including:
- Upper GI Endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs laser), and injection of varices.
- Small Bowel Biopsy.
- Lower GI Endoscopy, including colonoscopy with biopsy and excision of polyps.
- Sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid) preferred.
- Liver Biopsy (preferred but not required).
- Schedule for Monday and Tuesday can be a combination of clinic and procedures or only clinic, with 8-hour clinic shifts.
- Wednesday-Friday will be dedicated to procedures (colonoscopy, upper GI endoscopy), with Friday potentially being a half day or full day depending on volume.
- Participate in 1 day of 24-hour call, typically on Tuesday, to cover emergency and urgent GI cases.
- Collaborate with 1 RN, 1 MA, 1 NP/PA, and 1 Office Staff to ensure smooth operation in both the clinic and procedural settings.
Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) Certification
Licensing Requirements:
Must be WI licensed or eligible through IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact).
Support Staff:
- 1 RN to assist with procedures and patient care.
- 1 MA for patient intake and support.
- 1 NP/PA for additional patient care and clinical support.
- 1 Office Staff to assist with scheduling and administrative tasks.

- Monday-Tuesday: Combination of clinic and procedures or only clinic (8-hour clinic shifts).
- Wednesday-Friday: Full days dedicated to procedures (GI endoscopy, colonoscopy), with Friday potentially being a half day or full day depending on the caseload.
- 1 day of 24-hour call per week, typically on Tuesday.
- No weekends required.
