We have an incredible Contract Locum Gastroenterology Opportunity waiting for you in the heart of Iowa! You will be working closely with a team of highly skilled healthcare professionals, dedicated to providing the highest level of patient care.
Responsibilities:
As a Gastroenterologist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with diseases and disorders of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Key responsibilities include:
1. Provide comprehensive consultation, examination, diagnosis, and treatment plans for patients with diseases and disorders of the digestive system.
2. Perform endoscopic procedures including colonoscopies, endoscopies, and other advanced procedures as needed.
3. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care and effective communication regarding patient progress.
4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of latest treatments, procedures, and advancements in the field of gastroenterology.
5. Participate in educational programs, in-service meetings, and workshops to enhance professional growth and development.
6. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient diagnoses, treatments, and outcomes in the electronic health record system.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in Gastroenterology, with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Required qualifications include:
1. Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
2. Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship.
3. Board Certification or Eligibility in Gastroenterology.
4. Active and unrestricted Iowa medical license or the ability to obtain one.
5. 1-2 weeks of availability per month, ongoing
6. Procedures are a mix of Outpatient and Inpatient
7. Hospital Privileges required
