Job Description: Locum General Surgeon
Credentialing Timeframe: 90 days
Start Date: As soon as credentialed - ongoing
Position Type: Locum
Shift: 24-hour hospital on-call shift, 8:00 AM - 8:00 AM
Need: 11 days per month, consecutive days preferred
Call Response Time: 30 minutes

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Locum General Surgeon to join our progressive healthcare team. This position offers the opportunity to perform a wide range of surgical procedures in a supportive and challenging environment. As a member of our surgical team, the successful candidate will work closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide general surgery services, including both adult and pediatric care (trauma preferred).
• Perform laparoscopic surgeries, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernioplasty (required).
• Perform head/neck surgeries (required).
• Conduct chest wall/pleural procedures (required).
• Breast surgery (preferred).
• Liver surgery (preferred).
• Perform GI endoscopy (upper and lower) (required).
• Perform chest tube insertion (preferred).
• Perform central line insertion (preferred).
• Perform PA catheter placement (preferred).

Certifications Required:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) Certification

Licensing Requirements:
Must be WI licensed or eligible through IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact).

EMR System: Epic

Schedule and Availability:

• On-call 24-hour shifts, from 8:00 AM - 8:00 AM.
• 11 days per month availability (consecutive days preferred).
• Must be able to respond to call within 30 minutes.
