Pediatric Hospitalist – Locum Tenens
Location: Duluth, MN
Start Date: November 1, 2025 (Ongoing Assignment)
Schedule: Three 24-hour in-house shifts per week (within a 7-day period)
Facility Type: Level II Trauma Center
EMR: Epic
Opportunity Overview:
A hospital, located in scenic Duluth, Minnesota, is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist for ongoing locum tenens coverage starting November 1, 2025. This is an in-house position with three 24-hour shifts per week, covering a well-supported and collaborative pediatric inpatient service.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide inpatient pediatric care, including ED consults, newborn nursery, and delivery attendance
Attend C-sections and high-risk deliveries
Perform conscious sedation and non-invasive ventilation management
Intubation (ENT/INT) for newborns and pediatrics
Central line placement
Care for infants 32 weeks and up
Collaborate closely with in-system NICU teams and specialists
Patient Volume & Unit Info:
Max 5 patients per day
8-bed pediatric unit
Primarily low to mid-acuity cases
Strong cross-specialty collaboration and streamlined transfer options for high-acuity patients
Requirements:
Board Certified/Eligible Pediatrician (fellowship not required)
Active Minnesota license or IMLC eligibility
BLS & PALS certifications required
Comfortable with delivery attendance and basic procedural skills
Support Staff:
2 RNs
1 Administrative Office Staff
Facility Perks:
24-hour support services on site
One pediatric hospitalist on service at a time
Excellent peer support – collaborative, close-knit team atmosphere
Logistics:
Closest Airport: Duluth International Airport (DLH)
Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 days
