Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Machining Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Designing, developing, and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.
2. Recommending and implementing improvements to production processes, methods, and controls.
3. Coordinating manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
4. Designing, developing, and testing a variety of tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
5. Overseeing installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of such equipment.
6. Developing and implementing process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.
7. Analyzing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
8. Collaborating with design engineers to optimize design for manufacturability.
9. Leading and executing continuous improvement, lean manufacturing activities, and process improvement teams.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Permanent Machining Engineer position, you should possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on machining and tool design.
3. Strong understanding of machining processes, tool design, and production equipment capabilities.
4. Proficient in CAD/CAM software.
5. Ability to design and conduct research programs and apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
6. Proven experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to apply creative solutions to complex problems.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
9. Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and meet deadlines.
10. Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large amounts of data.
11. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
12. Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus.
