We are a leading company in the food manufacturing industry, currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Mechanic. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency and longevity of our manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities:
As a Maintenance Mechanic, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Performing routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
2. Inspecting, operating, and testing machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
3. Diagnosing mechanical problems and determining how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
4. Repairing or replacing defective equipment parts, using hand and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
5. Maintaining and repairing specialized equipment and machinery found in kitchens, laundries, hospitals, stores, offices, and factories.
6. Troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other machine components.
7. Keeping detailed records of all maintenance and repair work done, including a schedule of routine maintenance tasks.
Qualifications:
To qualify for the role of Maintenance Mechanic, you must have:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry.
2. Proven experience in equipment maintenance, mechanical knowledge, machinery maintenance, electrical systems, troubleshooting, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
3. The ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
4. Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools, multimeters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
5. Strong problem-solving skills, with a knack for diagnosing and fixing mechanical issues.
6. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
7. A high degree of mechanical aptitude and a keen eye for detail.
8. A valid driver’s license and the ability to respond to emergency calls outside of normal working hours.
9. A high school diploma or equivalent, while a certificate in Industrial Maintenance, an Associate degree, or higher in a related field will be considered an asset.
