We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Permanent Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, as it involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities maintenance, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality workmanship. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package, along with the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Maintenance Mechanic, your duties will include:
1. Performing routine and preventative maintenance on machinery and mechanical equipment, including engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
2. Diagnosing mechanical problems and determining how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
3. Inspecting, operating, and testing machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions.
4. Dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
5. Repairing or replacing broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.
6. Keeping detailed records of all maintenance and repair work done, including the date of service, the nature of the problem, and the parts and labor used to correct it.
7. Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures.
8. Collaborating with team members and other staff to ensure the efficient operation of the facility.
Work Hours - 8a to 430p
Monday through Friday
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, with a focus on industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
2. Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, including engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
3. Strong knowledge of the principles and practices of mechanical maintenance, repair, and safety.
4. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues quickly and efficiently.
6. High level of physical fitness, with the ability to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for long periods of time.
7. Good communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team and interact effectively with staff at all levels.
8. A valid driver's license and a reliable means of transportation.
