Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to perform a variety of complex maintenance, repair, and installation tasks across plant equipment and systems. This role involves troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and hands-on repair work involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry functions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical aptitude and experience in multiple maintenance trades, ensuring equipment reliability and plant safety.

Key Responsibilities
Repair and replace defective equipment parts using hand and power tools, and reassemble machinery to operational standards.
Perform preventive maintenance to ensure machines, building systems, and facility infrastructure operate efficiently.
Calibrate and document process equipment and instrumentation on a routine basis.
Inspect motors, drives, belts, and filters, checking fluid levels and performing maintenance actions per established checklists.
Utilize a range of tools — from standard hand and power tools to precision instruments and electronic testing equipment.
Assemble, install, and repair pipe systems, plumbing, and mechanical machinery as required.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, referencing blueprints, manuals, and parts catalogs as needed.
Inspect, operate, and test machinery to identify malfunctions or performance issues.
Maintain and document records of repairs, maintenance work, and associated costs.
Perform welding and pipefitting tasks as needed to support equipment repair or installation.
Clean, lubricate, and maintain shafts, bearings, gears, and other moving parts to ensure smooth operation.
Dismantle equipment using hoists, cranes, or tools to access and replace defective parts.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls to minimize downtime.
Adhere to all OSHA, FDA, and internal safety and quality standards, including use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Participate in safety drills and emergency procedures such as fire or chemical evacuations.
Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.
Technical certification or coursework in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, or related field preferred.
5+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
Proficient in basic computer applications including Microsoft Excel and Word.
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Welding Skills (Preferred)
Skilled in MIG (Gas Metal Arc Welding / GMAW) for production work and thinner metals.
Proficient in TIG (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding / GTAW) for high-quality, precise welds on stainless steel, aluminum, and specialty alloys.
Experienced in Stick Welding (SMAW) for general maintenance and repair applications.
Ability to read welding blueprints and symbols for accurate fabrication and assembly.
Knowledge of machine setup and parameter adjustments (amperage, voltage, gas flow, wire speed).
Skilled in cutting, grinding, and surface preparation to ensure strong, clean welds.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a manufacturing or production setting, including exposure to noise, dust, oil, and temperature fluctuations. Requires standing, walking, and lifting throughout the shift. PPE such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and respirators must be worn as required.
