Job Details
SUMMARY
This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing equipment in a food manufacturing facility that produces sauces, dressings, marinades, and other liquid-based consumer products. Duties include preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, oversight of plant and building systems, technical support for multiple departments (production, quality, R&D, sales), management of spare parts inventory and vendor relationships, and supervision of contractor-performed work orders. All tasks must be carried out in compliance with company policies, regulatory standards (FDA, USDA), and external audit requirements, while promoting a safe and ergonomic work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate, start up, shut down, assemble, tear down, and change over production equipment.
Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Maintain and execute preventive maintenance programs for production and warehouse systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems (VFDs, potentiometers, emergency stops, overload protection) with or without PLC/HMI integration.
Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems (actuators, valves, solenoids, manifolds, regulators, converters, lubrication systems) with or without PLC/HMI integration.
Collect and analyze data related to equipment performance, repairs, and utility usage.
Assist with training production staff and cross-training supervisors.
Safely operate material-handling equipment such as tow motors, pallet jacks, and scissor lifts.
Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service guides.
Work in accordance with GMPs, SSOPs, Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Communicate effectively and collaborate in a team-focused environment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
2–4 years of related experience and/or technical training, or an equivalent combination.
Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and dependability.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change.
Knowledge of pneumatic, electrical, and steam systems and their components, including liquid pumps (positive displacement & centrifugal), PLCs, HMIs, electric motors, and gearboxes.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, schematics, blueprints, and regulations.
Ability to effectively communicate with staff, management, and vendors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Proficiency with mechanical and mathematical concepts related to electricity, pneumatics, steam, probability, and measurement systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, reach, and communicate.
Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting of up to 80 lbs.
Requires close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Fast-paced production setting with close working quarters.
Exposure to equipment heat on a frequent basis.
Occasional exposure to refrigerated/cooler environments.
Noise levels are generally moderate.
