We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team in the Sugar Manufacturing industry. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment where you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing sophisticated machinery and equipment. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and longevity of our production machinery and mechanical equipment. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify faulty equipment, test new machinery, and implement regular maintenance procedures.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
  • Keep a record of all maintenance and repair work done, including a detailed description of the machine error, the diagnosis, and the repair work completed.
  • Monitor the use and inventory of spare parts, equipment, and other maintenance supplies, and order new supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with the production team to understand their needs and ensure machinery and equipment are in good working order.
  • Comply with all safety and health regulations when operating equipment or performing tasks.
  • Remain updated on current technology and machinery related to the manufacturing industry.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in a food manufacturing or similar industrial setting.
  • Proven mechanical and electrical skills, with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical components and systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and correct mechanical and electrical problems quickly and efficiently.
  • In-depth knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Strong complex problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and implement solutions.
  • Ability to handle physical workload and to work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
  • Professional certification in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
