Job Details
Responsibilities
Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and overhaul plant mechanical equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and samples to lay out work.
Troubleshoot issues down to the component level using manufacturers’ manuals and data.
Identify and requisition replacement parts and assemblies through the purchasing department.
Observe equipment in operation and detect problems through sight or sound.
Perform journeyman-level electrical work, including 3-phase and single-phase wiring, electrical safety, and 110v wiring.
Apply knowledge of welding, pipe fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics to equipment repair and maintenance.
Maintain and adjust transfer pumps; conduct preventative maintenance.
Properly use, maintain, and operate hand tools and mechanical tools with safety awareness.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including OSHA standards, fall protection, lock out/tag out, tank entry, sanitation, and other safety practices.
Qualifications
Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
Strong math skills with the ability to plan and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Effective communication and diplomacy when working with clients, contractors, and vendors.
Ability to follow Code of Safe Work Practices and exercise sound business judgment.
Self-directed, able to work under pressure, and detail-oriented.
Physical Requirements
Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 55 lbs. (and over 100 lbs. with handling equipment).
Operate heavy equipment as needed (manlifts, decanters, rotary fermenters, stemmers, tank presses, transfer pumps, lees filter, etc.).
Navigate obstacles such as hoses and cords by foot.
Work safely from ladders and elevated platforms.
Comply with Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace testing requirements.
Obtain medical clearance post-offer and pre-employment.
Have correctable vision and hearing.
Maintain a clean driving record when driving is required.
