Maintenance Technician

Food manufacturing company is looking to add an experienced Maintenance Mechanic!

Responsibilities include set up, change over and repair of equipment which includes bagel loaders/hoppers, sauce/cheese depositors, cheese shredders, conveyors/belts, labelers, shrink wrapping machines, carton forming machines (Adco or similar equipment), spiral freezers, breader/batter machines, industrial fryers, metal detectors, ink jet machines, and stainless-steel kettles and rotary mixers.

Job Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as a Mechanic.
• Experience with food manufacturing equipment required.
• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment repair and maintenance.
• Ability to identify problems and resolve them quickly.
• Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently under minimal supervision.

Educational/Certification Requirements:
Associates Degree, High School diploma/GED, or equivalent work experience
Must be able to read and write English
Welding experience


Job Responsibilities:

• Set up and repair machines for production of frozen snack foods
• Review equipment manuals and set up Preventive Maintenance Schedules to ensure that equipment performance and reliability remain at high levels and reduce machine downtime.
• Fill out the equipment logbooks as required.
• Ensure that equipment operating settings and instructions are documented for training and troubleshooting.
• Trouble shoot and repair machinery problems during production runs
• Liaison with outside contractors and suppliers.
• Ability to fabricate parts and perform welding on equipment as needed
• Oversee equipment installation projects.
• Set up and maintain spare parts system for critical MRO (maintenance/repair/operations) items. Order spare parts as required
• Adhere to food safety policies and OSHA and GMP regulations.
• Utilize all types of industrial shop and portable tools safely and effectively

Experience:

• Electrical/PLC: 1 year (Required)
• Mechanical knowledge: 2 years (Required)
