Job Details
HOURS: Mon-Fri 8AM-4:30PM
Responsibilities:
Requirements:
Qualifications - MUST HAVE:
Diploma/Equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Preferred experience with steel industry procurement, spot buys, MIN/MAX buys, and slitting distribution centers, MRO and supply purchasing. Everything from office supplies to steel coil.
Computer proficiency.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with teams in various departments
Responsibilities:
- Review customer forecasts, releasing/ordering materials based on lead time and projected volume.
- Establish and execute a procurement selection process that considers price, quality, delivery, freight cost, and compliance.
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential suppliers, products, and services aligned with company requirements.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Issue purchase orders accurately, specifying quantities and specifications.
- Keep track of order progress to ensure timely arrival and prevent supply disruptions.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods using inventory management software.
- Conduct routine audits, including cycle counts, to ensure data accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, & PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, & problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, & meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.
- Attention to detail & a commitment to ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
- Adherence to attendance requirements as well as Company policies/procedures
