We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Plant Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. This is a critical role that involves coordinating all activities related to the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs within our manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive environmental, health and safety (EHS) policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment and meet company and regulatory requirements.
2. Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
3. Lead incident investigations, identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
4. Develop and deliver training programs on EHS practices, standards, and regulations to enhance employee awareness and knowledge.
5. Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies on EHS-related issues, inspections, and audits.
6. Manage the company’s Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Confined Space Safety programs.
7. Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
8. Maintain accurate and complete records of safety-related incidents and preventive measures.
9. Collaborate with plant management and staff to promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), or a related field.
2. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation is strongly preferred.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
4. In-depth knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and guidelines.
5. Proven experience in managing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Confined Space Safety programs.
6. Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
7. Excellent communication and training skills.
8. Ability to identify, assess and control workplace risks.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
