Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the overall accounting operations of the manufacturing plant.
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring all business transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis and cost analysis.
- Manage the budgeting process, including preparing budgets, monitoring expenditures, and making necessary adjustments.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, credit memos, RMAs, and collections.
- Perform bank reconciliations and manage fixed asset accounting.
- Assist with both internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with local and state regulatory requirements.
- Prepare balance sheets and income statements.
- Reconcile accounts at the end of the month (EOM).
- Work closely with other departments to improve financial efficiency and profitability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in general ledger (GL) functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong experience with budgeting, variance analysis, financial reporting, and cost control.
- Excellent knowledge of financial and accounting procedures, including audit procedures and the creation of financial statements.
- Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
- Proven experience with bank reconciliation, invoices, credit memos, RMAs, collections, and cost analysis.
- Experience assisting with both internal and external audits.
- Knowledge of local and state regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and accounting software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
