We use hi-tech CNC equipment to fabricate tons of structural steel every year. Due to growth, we are hiring a Manufacturing Process Engineer with a background in operational improvement and project execution. This role will be instrumental in identifying inefficiencies and implementing enhancements across various functions, with a focus on driving measurable results and long-term value.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Site-Wide Improvements: Drive initiatives to boost performance metrics such as output quality, cycle time, and overall operational effectiveness.

  • Manage Capital Projects: Oversee facility investments from planning to execution, including cost estimation, resource allocation, and risk assessment.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with different teams to surface inefficiencies and co-develop action plans that support business goals.

  • Analyze Operational Data: Use data-driven methods to uncover root causes and recommend solutions.

  • Internal Training: Facilitate workshops and team sessions to build awareness and competency in process optimization tools.

  • Track Results: Set up KPIs, monitor progress of initiatives, and communicate outcomes to leadership.

  • Standardization Initiatives: Establish and maintain standardized procedures and work methods to improve consistency and reduce variation.

  • Facilitate Problem Solving: Lead sessions using structured techniques like Lean tools, 5 Whys, and Six Sigma to resolve operational challenges.

  • Maintain Documentation: Keep clear records of improvement efforts including objectives, timelines, actions taken, and final results.

  • Support Change: Guide departments through transitions tied to process changes, ensuring minimal disruption and employee engagement.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.

  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) is a plus.

  • Industry Experience: 3+ years in a process improvement or operational excellence role, ideally in a production or heavy fabrication environment but not a must-have.

  • Tools & Systems: Skilled in using MS Office, data analysis software, and project planning tools.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Must be collaborative, persuasive, and capable of working without formal authority to drive results.

  • Experienced with continuous improvement and process improvement strategies
