We are on the lookout for a passionate and dynamic Permanent Design Engineer to join our innovative team in the manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, testing, and improving our product designs, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in product development, from initial concept to final production, using a variety of design and engineering skills. Responsibilities:
1. Develop and design new products using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and AutoCAD software.
2. Perform engineering analysis and design reviews to optimize product performance.
3. Create detailed technical drawings for manufacturing processes.
4. Conduct design tests and validations to ensure products meet functional and performance specifications.
5. Prototype new designs and make necessary modifications based on testing feedback.
6. Utilize Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to ensure efficient production processes.
7. Perform 3D modeling using SolidWorks to visualize and simulate product designs.
8. Collaborate with the product development team to ensure design specifications are met.
9. Implement design verification procedures to confirm design integrity.
10. Troubleshoot design issues and implement corrective actions.
11. Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
12. Transfer finalized designs to the manufacturing team for production.
13. Stay updated with the latest design tools and technologies in the industry.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a design engineering role in the manufacturing industry.
3. Proficiency in CAD, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other design software.
4. Experience with designing electrical lighting, arena lighting, and architectural lighting is preferred.
5. In-depth understanding of design optimization, technical drawing, and engineering analysis.
6. Familiarity with design testing, validation, and prototyping.
7. Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and manufacturing processes.
8. Strong skills in 3D modeling and product development.
9. Experience with design verification and troubleshooting.
10. Understanding of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
11. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
12. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
13. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
14. Passion for design thinking and innovation.
