We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our innovative team in the Manufacturing industry. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, designing, and implementing mechanical components, machinery, and equipment. You will apply principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials to ensure our manufacturing processes are up to par. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in the design of cutting-edge products and technology.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing systems, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
2. Use AutoCAD to create and modify detailed 2D and 3D designs for complex projects.
3. Create engineering drawings that detail plans and specifications for manufacturing processes and equipment.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish product specifications and design criteria.
5. Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability, and throughput.
6. Develop a project specification with colleagues, often including those from other engineering disciplines.
7. Apply principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials in the design and manufacturing process.
8. Evaluate and analyze manufacturing processes and equipment for improvement opportunities utilizing expertise in product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
9. Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of equipment, components, and systems.
10. Involved in forging and manufacturing of forging products.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design, specifically in the manufacturing industry.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD software to create 2D and 3D designs.
4. Extensive knowledge of product development, engineering drawings, and manufacturing processes.
5. Experience with forging and forging products is essential.
6. Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) practices.
7. Strong understanding of mechanical design theory and principles.
8. Excellent problem-solving abilities and detail orientation.
9. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey design concepts and decisions to peers and management.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
11. High level of creativity for new product development.
