Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Permanent Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, testing, and manufacturing mechanical devices, including tools, engines, and machines. Working in a fast-paced, high-tech environment, the engineer will be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept through design, development, and production. Responsibilities:

• Design indoor sheet metal enclosures and products that meet customer specifications and industry standards.
• Develop mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements, researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials, and soliciting operator observations.
• Compile and release bills-of-material (BOM) and drawings for all assigned projects, and develop engineering documentation as required.
• Interface with suppliers on product design and cost issues.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as Product Management, Procurement, Production, and Quality to procure raw materials and produce assigned products/projects.
• Communicate effectively with peers and be an effective team player.

Requirements:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
• Minimum of 10 years of mechanical design experience developing 3D models and prototype products, preferably in the telecom power and/or electronics industry.
• Proficient in metal enclosure designs, including racks and indoor cabinets.
• Understanding of AC and DC circuits, including 3-phase AC and low-voltage DC.
• Proficient in using 3D/2D CAD modeling software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Data management experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office and graphic presentation software.
• Knowledge of power systems engineering and system control/alarm wiring.
• Demonstrated knowledge of various engineering concepts and practices, including mechanical design and principles.
• Ability to understand and resolve moderately complex technical issues.
• Familiarity with Telcordia, UL, National Electric Code, and NEBS requirements.
