Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end mechanical design: from layout and SolidWorks model creation through drawing release and manufacturing support.
  • Develop precision fixtures and perform part tolerance inspections to ensure high-quality assemblies.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to integrate mechanical solutions for optical, robotic, heating, and spectroscopy systems.
  • Create and review detailed technical documentation, assembly procedures, and test plans.
  • Conduct hands-on prototype testing, validate performance, and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Apply GD&T and material science knowledge to design components considering sealing, pressure, and thermal characteristics.
  • Balance between focused design work and dynamic, varied project tasks in a fast-paced environment.

What you need for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or higher) with 5+ years of professional, hands-on design experience.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks CAD, with solid capability in machining, inspection tools, and precision engineering.
  • Expert understanding of GD&T, material selection, and mechanical properties (thermal expansion, sealing, pressure).
  • Track record managing multiple mechanical projects—from concept through testing and final delivery.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience documenting specifications and presenting technical solutions.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive problem‑solver who thrives on working collaboratively toward innovative engineering outcomes.
