Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare engineering documents and equipment specifications following
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of Architectural, Electrical, Civil, and Structural Engineering construction practices.
  • Apply LEED experience in the design and certification of environmentally-friendly buildings.
  • Conduct engineering calculations using accepted methods and specialized software.
  • Communicate effectively with internal staff, clients, and other consultants/disciplines.
  • Coordinate and oversee the preparation of complex structure floor plans, site plans, and other drawings.
  • Review and approve Mechanical design packages developed by design teams.
  • Perform field reviews of existing facilities to ensure alignment with plans and specifications.
  • Take responsibility for system design, sizing, layout, and component selection for plumbing and HVAC systems.
  • Review mechanical submittals and coordinate cross-disciplinary efforts.
  • Oversee the Quality Control process throughout all project phases.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred
  • Certified Professional Engineer (P.E.); Licensed Engineer in the State of Texas preferred but open to candidates without it
  • 4+ years of mechanical engineering experience with MEP consulting firm
  • Expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical engineering across various project types (healthcare, education, municipal, commercial, multi-family, industrial).
  • Profound knowledge of standard engineering techniques, practices, and procedures.
  • Solid grasp of engineering principles, materials, systems, detailing, and construction methods.
  • Excellent familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including ICC Codes and ASHRAE.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Track record of leading discipline design for sizable projects and resolving issues within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, facilitation, team-building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to conduct quality reviews of detailed engineering documents and specifications.
