Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
- Prepare engineering documents and equipment specifications following
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of Architectural, Electrical, Civil, and Structural Engineering construction practices.
- Apply LEED experience in the design and certification of environmentally-friendly buildings.
- Conduct engineering calculations using accepted methods and specialized software.
- Communicate effectively with internal staff, clients, and other consultants/disciplines.
- Coordinate and oversee the preparation of complex structure floor plans, site plans, and other drawings.
- Review and approve Mechanical design packages developed by design teams.
- Perform field reviews of existing facilities to ensure alignment with plans and specifications.
- Take responsibility for system design, sizing, layout, and component selection for plumbing and HVAC systems.
- Review mechanical submittals and coordinate cross-disciplinary efforts.
- Oversee the Quality Control process throughout all project phases.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred
- Certified Professional Engineer (P.E.); Licensed Engineer in the State of Texas preferred but open to candidates without it
- 4+ years of mechanical engineering experience with MEP consulting firm
- Expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical engineering across various project types (healthcare, education, municipal, commercial, multi-family, industrial).
- Profound knowledge of standard engineering techniques, practices, and procedures.
- Solid grasp of engineering principles, materials, systems, detailing, and construction methods.
- Excellent familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including ICC Codes and ASHRAE.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Track record of leading discipline design for sizable projects and resolving issues within a team environment.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail, facilitation, team-building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to conduct quality reviews of detailed engineering documents and specifications.
