Position: Medical Architect
Location: Birmingham, AL highly preferred, open to remote candidates who will travel to Birmingham from time to time (will also pay for relocation to Birmingham)
Target Salary: $120-150k+ (will extend depending on experience)
Qualifications: Needs Hospital/Medical Design experience; Revit experience preferred

This role is pivotal in designing, detailing, and delivering high-performance healthcare environments that leverage modular innovation and traditional building logic. You’ll shape projects at all phases of design, managing all aspects of architecture projects through final occupancy and merging deep architectural rigor with operational integration.

Our client is seeking a mission-driven Medical Architect to join our integrated Design, Manufacture, Construct (DMC) team. This role is pivotal in designing, detailing, and delivering high-performance healthcare environments that leverage modular innovation and traditional building logic. You’ll shape projects at all phases of design, managing all aspects of architecture projects through final occupancy and merging deep architectural rigor with operational integration.
Role Expectations:
- Lead the architectural design and detailing of healthcare projects while balancing code compliance, modular optimization, and clinical functionality.
- Collaborate directly with internal MEP, construction, and precon teams to ensure architectural solutions are buildable, efficient, and aligned with platform constraints.
- Own regulatory engagement processes, including AHCA and other state-specific health review bodies, in close coordination with internal permitting and field teams.
- Develop repeatable design IP and site-adapt strategies that scale across multiple markets and healthcare systems.
- Document with precision using Revit, prioritizing clarity, constructability, and coordinated handoff to manufacturing and field teams.
- Mentor younger designers while helping shape company’s growing medical architecture bench.
Qualifications
- Licensed Architect with 5-10 years of experience in healthcare (OSHPD, AHCA, or equivalent environments).
- Expertise in modular design principles, especially for volumetric and prefabricated systems.
- Mastery of Revit and a track record of producing highly coordinated construction documents.
- Strong understanding of NFPA 101, FGI Guidelines, and health facility licensure processes.
- Exceptional communicator and proactive problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced, integrated settings.
