We are seeking a mission-driven Medical Architect to join an integrated Design, Manufacture, Construct (DMC) team. This role plays a critical part in designing, detailing, and delivering high-performance healthcare environments that combine modular innovation with traditional construction methods. The ideal candidate will contribute across all project phases—merging architectural excellence with operational and regulatory integration to ensure successful project delivery from concept through occupancy.
About the Team
This organization is shaping the future of healthcare delivery by integrating architecture, modular program management, self-perform trades, and streamlined project execution. The medical portfolio includes Free-Standing Emergency Departments, rehabilitation hospitals, outpatient clinics, and other facilities developed for leading healthcare systems nationwide.
Role Expectations
Lead architectural design and detailing of healthcare projects, balancing modular optimization, clinical functionality, and code compliance.
Collaborate closely with internal MEP, construction, and preconstruction teams to ensure architectural solutions are constructible, efficient, and platform-aligned.
Manage regulatory engagement, including with AHCA, OSHPD, or other state-specific healthcare review bodies, in coordination with permitting and field teams.
Develop scalable design strategies and repeatable IP for use across multiple markets and healthcare networks.
Produce highly coordinated construction documentation using Revit, prioritizing constructability, clarity, and effective handoffs to manufacturing and construction teams.
Mentor junior designers and contribute to the growth of the healthcare architecture discipline within the organization.
Qualifications
Licensed Architect with 5–10 years of experience in healthcare environments (AHCA, OSHPD, or equivalent).
Deep understanding of modular and prefabricated design systems, particularly volumetric approaches.
Expertise in Revit and a strong portfolio of coordinated construction documentation.
In-depth knowledge of NFPA 101, FGI Guidelines, and healthcare facility licensing processes.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to work in fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environments.
Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Chief Design Officer, with dotted-line accountability to Project Leads and the Director of Architecture. The role will collaborate closely with field superintendents, project managers, and modular fabrication partners to ensure architectural quality and alignment across all phases.
