We are seeking a proficient and detail-oriented Permanent Medical Malpractice Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, supporting our attorneys in medical malpractice cases. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of medical malpractice law, medical terminology, and the litigation process. They will also have experience with the discovery process, Medicare/Medicaid, and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Assist attorneys in all aspects of medical malpractice litigation, including pre-trial preparation, trial support, and post-trial work.
2. Perform legal and medical research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses.
3. Review, analyze, and organize medical records, and prepare medical chronologies.
4. Coordinate with medical experts, including preparing for and attending depositions.
5. Handle Medicare/Medicaid and FOIA requests.
6. Manage document production and trial exhibits, including electronic discovery.
7. Maintain case files and manage case calendars.
8. Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts.
9. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and protocols.
Qualifications:
1. Paralegal certification is required.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on medical malpractice.
3. Proficient knowledge of medical malpractice law and medical terminology.
4. Familiarity with the litigation process, including discovery, trial preparation, and post-trial proceedings.
5. Experience with Medicare/Medicaid and FOIA requests.
6. Strong research skills and proficiency in using legal research software.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
9. High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
11. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
