This individual will be instrumental in managing and organizing medical malpractice cases, assisting attorneys, and providing top-notch service to our clients. The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of the Discovery Process, Medicare/Medicaid, and FOIA requests. Job Details
**Responsibilities**
1. Assist attorneys with medical malpractice cases, including preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions.
2. Conduct extensive legal research and compile information for attorneys.
3. Draft legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests, and responses.
4. Review and organize medical records, and prepare summaries for attorneys.
5. Coordinate and manage medical experts and consultants.
6. Handle Medicare/Medicaid and FOIA requests.
7. Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and team members.
8. Maintain case management system and ensure all case material is up-to-date and organized.
9. Perform administrative tasks as needed, such as filing, photocopying, and scheduling appointments.
**Qualifications**
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in medical malpractice.
2. Strong knowledge of the Discovery Process, Medicare/Medicaid, and FOIA requests.
3. Paralegal certification or equivalent legal education is required.
4. Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
5. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
9. Comprehensive knowledge of legal terminology and principles.
10. An understanding of medical terminology is a plus.
