Job Details
In this role, you will:
Lead the design of HVAC systems, including calculating heating and cooling loads, selecting equipment, laying out ductwork and piping, developing project details, and writing or editing engineering specifications.
Design plumbing systems by calculating capacities and loads, developing piping layouts and details, and refining project specifications.
Participate in design review meetings and interdisciplinary workshops.
Solve complex design challenges such as balancing conflicting owner requirements, selecting appropriate system types, or adapting to difficult site conditions.
Conduct research on design options and present findings to the project team.
Ensure all drawings and designs comply with local codes and established design standards.
Collaborate and coordinate effectively with architectural and engineering disciplines throughout the project.
What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
8+ years of consulting engineering experience, with a strong focus on healthcare projects across a variety of client types
Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by a state licensing board
Familiarity with building control systems (preferred but not required)
Proficiency in Revit, BIM, Trane/TRACE, IES, and Microsoft Office
Residency in Rochester or willingness to relocate (we offer relocation assistance)
