We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Millwork Estimator to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional to contribute to our company's success by accurately estimating the cost of millwork projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating project specifications, preparing cost estimates, and analyzing contractor bids. This role requires a deep understanding of woodwork and casework, as well as proficiency in cost estimating tools like Bluebeam and On-Screen Takeoff.
Responsibilities:
1. Review and interpret project plans and specifications to develop comprehensive cost estimates for millwork projects.
2. Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and On-Screen Takeoff to accurately determine material quantities and labor costs.
3. Prepare detailed and accurate bid proposals and present them to management and clients.
4. Analyze and compare contractor bids to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
5. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the estimating process.
6. Stay abreast of industry trends, pricing, and new materials to ensure estimates are current and competitive.
7. Manage and maintain all estimate documentation in an organized and timely manner.
8. Participate in project meetings and provide updates on estimate progress.
9. Continuously improve the estimating process to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in millwork estimating, with a focus on woodwork and casework.
3. Proficient in cost estimating software such as Bluebeam and On-Screen Takeoff.
4. Strong knowledge of the principles and methods of cost estimation, including labor, material, and equipment pricing.
5. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret project plans and specifications.
6. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
8. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
9. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
10. A team player with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
