Job Details
Our client in Boulder, CO is looking for an experienced underwriter to join their team! The ideal candidate has at least 5 years underwriting experience, has obtained DE/SAR/LAPP certifications or is willing to obtain those through us as soon as possible, works well in a team environment, and can handle a steady workload. We are growing and have an immediate need for a strong underwriter to be a long term member of their mortgage family!
Essential Duties:
Evaluate loan submissions for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to agency and investor guidelines
Calculate qualifying income including analyzing complex tax returns and financial statements
Review and approve appraisals
Analyze credit reports, income documentation, and asset statements
Manage individual pipeline on a daily basis by completing new underwriting reviews, condition reviews, and other underwriting tasks within established turn times
Communicate effectively and engage proactively with loan officers, processors, closers, and managers
Provide excellent customer service to all involved in each step of the process
Qualifications:
Must have active DE/SAR/LAPP designations, or be willing to obtain them
Must have at least 5 years mortgage underwriting experience
Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to work 40 hours per week and overtime as required.
Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
Must be proficient in DU and LP
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have a positive attitude.
Must be dependable, self-motivated, and require minimal supervision.
Must be proficient with all guidelines and websites necessary to complete job functions.
Must be detail oriented.
Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Must be able to organize, prioritize, and manage time.
