Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Provide legal counsel to public agencies, including city councils, on a wide range of municipal law matters.
2. Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis on various complex issues related to public agency affairs, environmental law, government contracting, and other related areas.
3. Prepare and review various legal documents, contracts, and agreements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
4. Represent public entities in litigation, administrative hearings, and negotiations.
5. Advise on the development and implementation of policies and procedures in compliance with municipal law.
6. Develop and deliver presentations to city councils, public agencies, and other stakeholders on legal issues and developments.
7. Collaborate with other legal team members and stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective legal support.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in municipal law, specifically in public agency affairs, environmental law, OR government contracting.
3. Active member in good standing with the State Bar.
4. Demonstrated experience in representing public entities before administrative bodies and in court proceedings.
5. Strong legal research and writing skills.
6. Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
7. Ability to interpret and apply complex laws and regulations.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
10. High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
