Our healthcare organization is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our team. The NNP will provide specialized care for newborns with a wide spectrum of illnesses and prematurity, as well as healthy infants. The successful candidate will be part of a team that offers a high quality of care, support, and education to patients and their families.

Staffing Model/Schedule:​
Neonatologists and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners share the work at each facility
12 or 24 hr. shifts for NNPs with flexible, self-scheduling
Responsibilities include:
Delivery attendance
Day-to-day management of NICU and Newborn Nursery patients
PParticipate in multi-disciplinary rounds to provide collaborative, team-based care of NICU patients including but not limited to ventilator management, nutrition management, lab review, and meeting with families
High-frequency ventilation (HFOV and HFJV), inhaled nitric oxide, therapeutic hypothermia, pediatric surgery
No cardiac surgery, except for PDAs; no ECMO
Subspecialty support

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care to newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), including diagnosing and treating illnesses.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to formulate a plan of care for each patient.
  • Perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilization procedures as needed.
  • Coordinate and conduct parental education and counseling sessions to support the family's understanding of the newborn's condition and care plan.
  • Participate in research activities and contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current trends and developments in neonatal care through continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including maintaining patient confidentiality and ensuring patient safety at all times.

Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
  • A minimum years of experience as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or equivalent experience as a physician in a neonatal setting.
  • Excellent clinical skills with the ability to make decisions in high-stress situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining current knowledge of advancements in neonatal care.
