Job Details
We are hiring a Nurse Manager to lead clinical operations for a Pediatrics & Adolescent Health department in a busy outpatient healthcare setting.
This role is ideal for an experienced Registered Nurse, RN Supervisor, Pediatric Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Manager, Ambulatory Nurse Manager, or Lead RN who enjoys improving clinical workflows, developing nursing staff, supporting patient-centered care, and leading a multidisciplinary team.
The Nurse Manager will oversee nursing, medical assistants, triage, care coordination, medication management, point of care testing, vaccines, infection control, patient flow, and clinical workflow processes. This position works closely with the Clinical Director, Quality team, providers, nursing staff, Medical Assistants, and care coordination team to ensure safe, efficient, compliant, and patient-focused pediatric and adolescent care.
Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day clinical operations for Pediatrics & Adolescent Health
Supervise RNs, LPNs, Medical Assistants, and care coordination staff
Oversee pediatric and adolescent triage workflows for in-person and phone-based patient needs
Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, protocols, and standing orders
Improve clinical workflows, patient throughput, staff engagement, and patient satisfaction
Ensure safe nursing care, medication management, documentation, vaccines, immunizations, and infection control practices
Oversee point of care testing, quality control documentation, and regulatory compliance
Support PCMH-based care delivery and population health initiatives
Partner with Quality leadership on compliance, accreditation, infection prevention, and environment of care standards
Manage clinical supplies, vaccines, medications, and inventory needed for patient care
Support nurse visits, patient education, referrals, diagnostic orders, home care orders, and discharge follow-up
Use data and reporting tools to identify gaps in care and improve clinical performance
Provide direct patient care when needed
Qualifications
Active Connecticut Registered Nurse license
Associate’s degree in Nursing required
7+ years of RN experience in an acute care or outpatient setting
2+ years of supervisory experience in an acute care or outpatient setting
CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
Experience working with diverse patient populations
Strong communication, leadership, documentation, and clinical judgment skills
Microsoft Office experience, including Word and Outlook
Preferred
BSN
Pediatric, adolescent health, primary care, ambulatory care, or FQHC experience
Spanish-speaking ability
Experience with PCMH, population health, care coordination, quality improvement, or clinical operations
