Position Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner coordinates decision making with the internist, in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of psychiatric patients. The Nurse Practitioner works in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to perform the medical needs clinical assessments and develop treatment plans. The team includes psychiatrists, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, mental health technicians, social workers, therapists and educators. Be able to perform H&P 's and manage follow up medical care on inpatient patients. Have the ability to recognize own limitations and respond to difficult situations. Skillfully work in a self-motivated and independent manner. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members as well as clients.
Qualifications:
1. A Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
2. Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
4. Proven experience in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatments, and consultations.
5. Proficient in clinical procedures, medical terminology, and disease management.
6. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and patient management skills.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment and make important decisions quickly.
8. Strong commitment to providing the highest level of patient care.
9. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) software.
10. Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent certification.
