Job Details
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our educational team and provide therapeutic services to students with visual impairments and additional developmental challenges. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve students' functional abilities, fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care skills, and participation within the educational environment.
Responsibilities include:
Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals
Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services
Collaborate with teachers, parents, related service providers, and administrators
Recommend adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, and assistive strategies
Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and IEP conferences
Support students in developing independence with daily living and school-related tasks
Qualifications
Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
Active New York State Occupational Therapist license required
School-based or pediatric experience preferred
Experience working with students with disabilities preferred
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Passion for helping students achieve their highest level of independence
