Job Details

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Handle a caseload of general liability and insurance defense litigation matters
  • Draft pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and related litigation documents
  • Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive written arguments
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
  • Manage client reporting, including insurance carriers and corporate clients
  • Participate in mediations and arbitrations, with potential courtroom appearances
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervise case progress toward resolution
  • Proactively manage deadlines and case strategy

You should have most of the following:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in New York (dual licensure in PA/NJ a plus)
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in general liability and insurance defense litigation
  • Strong background in civil litigation including discovery, depositions, and motion practice
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Proven ability to analyze complex legal issues and produce high-quality work
  • Experience with mediation or arbitration preferred
  • Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and take ownership of case strategy
