Responsibilities:
As an Oil and Gas Attorney, you will:
1. Conduct thorough title examinations and prepare title opinions for oil and gas transactions.
2. Provide legal advice on acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
3. Negotiate, draft, and review contracts related to oil and gas transactions.
4. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
5. Handle any litigation or dispute resolution related to oil and gas matters.
6. Collaborate with the legal team to develop strategies and mitigate legal risks.
7. Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory changes that may affect the company and its operations.
8. Provide training to company staff on legal matters related to oil and gas.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the State Bar.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a title attorney, preferably in the oil and gas industry. No job hopper and must have attention to detail
4. In-depth knowledge of oil and gas law, including title examination, acquisitions, divestitures, and regulatory compliance.
5. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to draft and review complex contracts.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal issues to non-legal personnel.
7. Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
8. High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
9. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
10. Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
