Job Details
We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Oil & Gas/Maritime Attorney to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a diverse group of clients in the oil, gas, and maritime sectors, providing them with expert legal advice and representation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of maritime law, oil and gas regulations, and litigation defense. This role requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in these areas.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide expert legal advice to our clients in the oil, gas, and maritime sectors, helping them navigate complex regulatory and legal landscapes.
2. Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitrations, mediations, and negotiations, ensuring their interests are protected.
3. Conduct thorough legal research and prepare legal documents such as contracts, deeds, and other legal papers related to oil, gas, and maritime operations.
4. Manage and mitigate legal risks by designing and implementing comprehensive risk management strategies.
5. Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect our clients and their businesses, and provide them with updated legal advice.
6. Collaborate with a team of lawyers and legal professionals to develop strategies for cases and legal issues.
7. Develop relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and objectives to provide tailored legal advice.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should have the following qualifications:
1. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience as an attorney in the oil, gas, and maritime sectors.
3. Proven experience in litigation defense.
4. Deep knowledge of maritime law, oil, and gas regulations.
5. Excellent negotiation, research, and communication skills.
6. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
7. Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
8. Admission to the state bar where practicing.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
