We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and passionate Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care in our oncology department, focusing on treating individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer. Job Details
The Oncology RN will be responsible for the following:
1. Administering chemotherapy and other necessary medications to patients diagnosed with cancer.
2. Assessing patient conditions, recording observations, and reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
3. Developing and implementing individualized patient care plans, ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
4. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of oncologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to discuss treatment plans and patient progress.
5. Educating patients and their families about cancer diagnosis, treatment options, potential side effects, and the overall process.
6. Providing emotional support to patients and their families, helping them cope with the diagnosis and treatment process.
7. Monitoring and ensuring the proper functioning of medical equipment.
8. Participating in research and staying updated with the latest trends and advancements in oncology nursing.
9. Adhering to all healthcare regulations, standards, and safety measures to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, the candidate must possess the following:
1. A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Oncology RN.
3. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
4. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification is highly desirable.
5. Proven experience in administering chemotherapy and managing side effects in patients.
6. Excellent knowledge of oncology, cancer treatment protocols, and palliative care.
7. Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team.
8. Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment, while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
10. Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
11. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
