What you will do:

The Operations Manager is responsible for all operations, quality and production control including management of supervisors, crews, scheduling, profitability and budgets of projects. This position will be dynamic and its requirements may change as per the General Manager’s instructions.

Cultivates a positive safety culture in the district. Develops and nurtures empowerment in all phases of the operation.
Oversees the process controls to achieve maximum efficiency and reduce the operating costs
Ensures execution of operational policies and procedures, to include: skill development, hiring and terminating, scheduling, measuring performance and promotions.
Ensures company safety and environmental rules and regulations are met through periodic inspections of plant machinery, equipment, personal activities and working conditions.
Communicates openly and continually with maintenance management to ensure equipment readiness meets production projections.
Create rapport with employees and customers showing honesty, integrity, and conveying a positive image of the company he represents.
Interacts closely with key departments such as sales, customer service, maintenance, safety, human resources and quality control.
Prepare the yearly operating budget in coordination with the various departments. Strives to achieve production/cost budget and goals.
Provide resources and aid to ensure maintenance and operations successfully meet project demands.
Provide input to maintenance on equipment condition, operator neglect and required repairs.
Holding and spearheading weekly supervisory meetings to convey the status of work, costs, schedules, profitability and budgets of the department and specific jobs.

Experience and abilities you will need:

Bachelor's Degree in Business and administration or Engineering and engineering trades.
8+ years of experience in manufacturing and delivery in the building materials industry.
5 – 7 years supervisory / management experience.
Experience in planning and budgeting.
Ability to motivate employees to achieve common goals, including functional support within the district. Strong commitment to safety & environment, quality, customer service and plant cleanliness.
Financial planning skills: Strong organizational and budgeting skills. The Operations Manager is responsible for looking at the future of the business and making key maintenance and investment recommendations.
Interpersonal skills: Ability to resolve employee performance issues and conflicts. Must be able to manage an empowered workforce, lead by example and be an effective coach.
Communication skills: Ability to communicate performance expectations and work assignments to employees and to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
