Job Details
You should have some of the following:
BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering.
10+ years related experience in the mechanical design of opto-mechanical packaging for volume production, including kinematic mounting and alignment of optical components.
Thermal and structural design, analysis and modeling, design of precision mechanisms, opto-mechanics, optics alignment, shock and vibration, heat transfer, and metrology instrumentation.
Familiarity with Lean/Agile Phase-Gate Product Development.
Ability to design for volume production, with emphasis on cost optimization and reliability. Knowledge of DFA/DFM and FMEA.
Experience in design of tooling and assembly fixturing.
Experience with sheet metal and chassis design for electro-optical instrumentation.
SolidWorks; experience with PDM, Simulation and Flow a plus.
Experience in Revision and Change Control Processes and working within an ISO or similar Quality System.
Familiarity with specification and layout of mechanical components on electronic boards.
High proficiency and working knowledge of GD&T.
Plastic Injection Molding design experience.
Metal Casting processing and design experience.
Knowledge of machining processes and tolerance analyses.
