Job Details

We are seeking a detail-oriented Substation Engineer to support a growing team. This position will work closely with engineers and other designers to develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and other deliverables for high-voltage utility substation projects.

The ideal candidate has prior experience producing substation electrical drawings and point-to-point wiring diagrams and can manage multiple project assignments while maintaining accuracy, quality, and schedule requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Develop CAD drawings and other engineering project deliverables.
  • Prepare and revise electrical substation drawings, including:
  • Operations diagrams
  • Single-line diagrams
  • Three-line diagrams
  • Current and potential schematics
  • Protection & Control (P&C) schematics
  • Communication schematics
  • Alarm schematics
  • Point-to-point wiring diagrams
  • Work closely with engineers and other designers to identify and correct drawing discrepancies.
  • Import BOMs, calculations, tables, notes, and supporting information into drawing packages.
  • Perform thorough self-checks to ensure drawings are complete and accurate prior to review.
  • Complete drawings efficiently while meeting project schedules and quality requirements.
  • Handle multiple projects concurrently and adjust to changing project priorities.
  • Participate in project meetings and communications as needed to support successful project delivery.
  • Provide support to other internal teams when required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of CAD experience.
  • AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Previous experience drafting schematics and associated wiring diagrams for high-voltage utility substation projects is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and changing project priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, and project teams.
