Packaging Engineering Scientist

We are growing and looking for a Packaging Engineering Scientist to join the team!

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and improve packaging specifications, materials, and processes from concept to commercialization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create packaging solutions that meet cost, sustainability, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct material testing, packaging analysis, and ensure compatibility with production equipment.
• Stay current on packaging technologies, sustainability trends, and industry regulations.
• Identify and evaluate new packaging materials and potential co-packers for new product development.
• Work with vendors and suppliers to implement innovative packaging solutions.
• Support product quality improvements and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Troubleshoot packaging defects and implement preventive measures.
• Maintain quality management systems (QMS) for assigned products.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
• 6-10 years of packaging development experience in the food manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, technologies, and testing methods.
• Understanding of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience working with packaging suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
