Responsibilities:
As a Consulting Paralegal/Document Specialist, you will:
1. Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development.
2. Prepare, organize, and manage legal documents, including drafting, proofreading, and revising contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
3. Assist in the discovery process, including the collection, organization, and review of discovery documents.
4. Provide expert advice and guidance on home owners association law, including interpreting and applying laws, regulations, and policies.
5. Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for trials, hearings, and meetings, ensuring all necessary documents and materials are readily available.
6. Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with clients, attorneys, and other staff members.
7. Utilize advanced Excel skills to maintain and manage databases, create reports, and perform data analysis.
8. Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and industry practices that may affect clients or case outcomes.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in paralegal work, preferably in a consulting role.
2. Proven experience with home owners association law and legal document preparation.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, vlookup, and data analysis.
4. Exceptional research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal information and provide clear, concise explanations.
5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and other staff members.
7. A high level of professionalism and confidentiality, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
8. A bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Law, or a related field is preferred. A paralegal certification is also highly desirable.
