Responsibilities:
As a Paralegal/Legal Assistant, you will:
1. Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to multiple attorneys, ensuring the efficient operation of the legal team.
2. Conduct in-depth legal research, using Westlaw Precision software, to assist with case preparation and strategy development.
3. Assist with trial preparation, including the coordination of witnesses, preparation of exhibits, and drafting of legal documents.
4. Prepare and record real estate documents, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
5. Manage attorney calendars, scheduling meetings, court appearances, and deadlines.
6. Maintain a high level of proficiency in NetDocuments and PC Law, using these tools to manage and organize case files and documentation.
7. Ensure compliance with the Texas Public Information Act and Open Meetings Act in all relevant activities.
8. Draft, proofread, and revise legal documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
9. Communicate with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals, providing excellent customer service and maintaining the reputation of our firm.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant.
2. Proven experience in municipal law and local government processes.
3. Proficiency in NetDocuments, PC Law, and Westlaw Precision software.
4. Demonstrated ability to support multiple attorneys in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
5. Exceptional organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage attorney calendars and coordinate complex schedules.
6. Experience in conducting legal research and assisting with trial preparation.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
8. Familiarity with the Texas Public Information Act and Open Meetings Act.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a high degree of initiative and flexibility.
10. Paralegal certification or equivalent qualification is preferred.
11. Experience with real estate document recording is a plus.
