This isn’t your average Paralegal role. It’s a chance to be part of a firm that punches above its weight and expects you to do the same! The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in legal research, legal writing, drafting legal documents, litigation support, constitutional law, appellate practice, and appellate advocacy.
Responsibilities:
As a Paralegal, you will be tasked with a myriad of responsibilities that require both skill and discretion. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Conducting thorough and detailed legal research to support case preparation and development.
2. Drafting, proofreading, and editing a variety of legal documents, such as pleadings, briefs, deposition notices, and subpoenas.
3. Assisting in the preparation of legal arguments, applications, declarations, and motions.
4. Providing comprehensive litigation support, including gathering evidence, coordinating with clients and witnesses, and managing case files.
5. Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations in constitutional law.
6. Assisting attorneys in the preparation and presentation of appellate briefs and oral arguments.
7. Monitoring and updating attorneys on changes in laws and regulations relevant to their practice.
8. Maintaining an organized and current case file system, ensuring all relevant information is easily accessible.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department.
2. Proven experience in legal research, legal writing, drafting legal documents, litigation support, constitutional law, appellate practice, and appellate advocacy.
3. Strong knowledge of legal terminologies, court rules, and procedures.
4. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, and complex legal documents.
5. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
6. Superior written and verbal communication skills.
7. Proficiency in using legal research software, Microsoft Office Suite, and case management systems.
