Job Details
Day to Day:
1. Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation from onset through trial;
2. Draft pleadings, correspondence, authorizations, interrogatories, transmittal letters, and other legal documents;
3. File summonses and complaints, and work with vendors to effectuate service;
4. Prepare discovery requests and responses;
5. Coordinate and schedule depositions;
6. Track and monitor client files, calendars, and provide status updates;
7. Perform extensive internal and on-line legal research (court rules and procedures);
8. Assist with trial preparation, including trial binders, exhibits, coordinate with experts, opposing counsel, and court staff.
Skills Desired:
1. Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment (time and content sensitive deadlines);
2. Highly organized;
3. Strong computer and procedural skills;
4. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills;
5. Detail oriented with the ability to analyze and problem solve;
6. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team to establish and foster working relationships with litigation attorneys, investigators, paralegals, and legal assistants
Preferred Experience:
1. 3 – 5 years of experience;
2. Paralegal degree or certificate;
3. Product liability or personal injury experience is a plus.
